Description
This is the early-war M3 Diaphragm Gas Mask and Bag issued to U.S. Army GI's in WWII, where it was necessary to speak through the mask (hence, the "diaphragm"). The M3 differs from the latter M3A1 in that the exhalation valve and "speaker" are made of metal rather than molded plastic used for the same components of the M3A1. The bag is the "kidney-shaped" one made of khaki/light olive drab canvas and is in good condition. The mask is in similar good used condition.
