Description
WW ll U.S. Army Heavyweight Model M2A2 Service Gas Mask. This mask is in its original carrier and is complete other than the use/maintenance card. It does have the anti-dim stick. From the lot/date on the face mask we believe it was made in March 1943 by General (General Tire and Rubber) of Wabash, Indiana. The mask was issued (has a soldier's service letter/number code), but remains in very good to excellent overall condition. The gray rubber face mask is still flexible, and all of the elastic straps are still good, although we certainly would not want to wear it as nearly 70 year old elastic would be pretty easy to break. The eye lenses are only slightly discolored as is common with these masks, but these are more clear than most we've seen.
