This is the early-war M3A1 (MIVAI C586-3J) Diaphragm Gas Mask and Bag issued to U.S. Army GI's in WWII. The M3A1 was essentially identical to the M3, but an updated plastic voice-mitter and exhale valve component was used in place of the earlier metal version. This Gas Mask is complete with filter and carrier.
