French Indochina M51 Helmet for sale - After experimenting with a few different designs the French decided to got with this helmet as their follow up to the Adrian. These were the helmets that were worn in French Indochina and Algeria. No military helmet collection would be complete without one. The M51 helmet was put into military service in 1951 (hence the model name), and were used up into the late 70's. OTAN: North Atlantic Treaty Organization or NATO (in French: Organisation du traité de l'Atlantique Nord (OTAN)), also called the (North) Atlantic Alliance.
Features
- Looking very much like the US M1 this one differs slightly in the size of the visor and rear brim. The liner is in concept the same as the M1 but made of plastic or in this case pressed resinated duck cloth. These helmets debut in 1951 and were used up into the late 70's.
