Description
New L-shaped internal drinking tube for the U.S. M40 or M45 gas mask. Internal Drink Tube is a one piece molded silicone rubber tube approximately 2.2 inches long with .28 outside diameter. NSN 4240-01-260-8711 Part # 5-1-1085 The internal drinking tube will fit all respirators in the M40 series gas masks, M40A1, M42, M42A1, plus the 3M FR-M40 masks including FR-M40-10, FR-M40-20, & FR-M40-30. To test your mask: Steady mask assembly, withdraw quick disconnect coupling half from retainer and let it hang freely. Grasp the internal drink tube between your lips. If resistance is not felt, drink system is leaking. A more positive test may be done on the external drink tube quick disconnect by the following procedure: Fill cup full of water. Place mask assembly on face. Dip quick disconnect in cup of water. Blow into internal drink tube. Watch for bubbles in the water. If there are no bubbles, the quick disconnect is operational. If bubbles are detected, the quick disconnect is not operational.
