Description
The Drager M65 Gas Mask was used by the German Armed Forces by military personnel, and by civilians as well (the M65Z). This mask is genuine Bundeswehr surplus and a more recent version than its predecesor the M62 respirator. There were several versions of the M65 manufactured beginning in the mid 1960s. This comes with the mask, 40mm filter (sealed unopened canister), and its original plastic carrying can with straps. Interesting fact about the manufacturer: The Drager "breathing apparatus" was devised in 1903 and manufactured by the Drager Company of Germany. It became so popular in the mine rescue business that the term "dragerman" became a synonym for an underground mine rescue worker. The company still exists today and claims to have manufactured over two million protective masks for the German Armed Forces during World War One. The M65 gas mask for sale was manufactured by Drager.
